I have worked in the substance misuse, domestic abuse & social care field for nearly twenty years, beginning with my role as a counsellor at the NSPCC. I gathered a wealth of experience in therapeutic direct delivery work and in policy and practice development.
Working independently as a consultant and trainer, I design and deliver tailor - made programmes for a wide range of services working with the hidden harms within multiple problem families, with a focus on early identification and effective partnership working at a local and national level.
I have experience of working in partnership at all levels of business with government and other charities and organisations aimed at improving partnership links and effective joint commissioning.
Before going independent I was a lead for Alcohol Concern on service transformation for agencies involved in alcohol, family and domestic abuse work, I championed the development of nationally recognised innovative approaches. My training programmes for multi-disciplinary professionals has been a great success with county council troubled family teams, therapists and social care students.
I have extensive knowledge of local authority settings having held a strategic position at Hertfordshire County Council's Crime and Drugs Unit as the county lead for domestic abuse.
I currently deliver tailor-made training modules for college and other organisations.
I supervise practitioners in the social care field both individuals and teams working in the community.
